The following are some of my non-scientific writings that people have found to be interesting.
- An account of the 2000 International Chemistry Olympiad and my experiences there; written for the American Chemical Society.
- An analysis of Neon Genesis Evangelion and Kareshi Kanojo no Jijou, two anime series by Gainax Studios; written for a course during the spring term of 2001.
- A second analysis paper on Evangelion, a bit shorter and simpler (no Freudian analysis). It's not as good as the previous one (in my opinion), but it's still pretty interesting--these two research papers are among the few that I still read every once in a while.
- A response paper on Kantian philosophy, discussing a his concept of moral actions--but in terms of mathematical set theory! A few people have read this and very much enjoyed it, and maybe you will too. Sorry it's only in a PDF right now; I'll try to make it an HTML file (but the equations will be a bit tricky to translate).
- A proof of the solution to the chicken-vs-egg problem that I produced back in high school along with Jonathan Lerner and Michael Maas. Take it with a grain (large lump) of salt...
I will try to put up more as I go on. Scientific and computer-related writings are located here.
Internet Explorer is not liking my stylesheet very much; it refuses to accept the fact that there is a minimum height for this content area, and as a result it puts everything in the wrong place.
Because of this problem, I am forced to fill up this area with text. Since it is a Microsoft bug, I will put in a Microsoft joke.
I sense much NT in you.
NT leads to Bluescreen.
Bluescreen leads to downtime.
Downtime leads to suffering.
NT is the path to the darkside.
Powerful Unix is.
